MAKE YOUR OWN ADVENTURE
Why hunt and how does it help with conservation?
My journey started in 2003 at the tender age of 13 years old myself and my father went on a hunt that will change my life forever. Pulling the trigger on that blesbuck on my chilly 13th birthday on the 30th of June sparked a passion that would ultimately drive me to my obsession with conservation as I have today.
Becoming a PH in 2009 was a dream come true. Not only did I love hunting, I knew it was the step in the right direction for me to understand more about conservation and the important part that hunting plays in conservation. As my career progressed and the obsession with the fact that Professional Hunters were playing such a crucial role in the conservation pool. As I understood that death was part of the game I never enjoyed TAKING A LIFE OF ANIMAL was the part that I disliked the most as we as humans are embedded with the feelings called empathy which is emotion towards life or feelings, complicating I know. But understanding that it was part of our primal DNA that this is how life on earth and more commonly referred to as the circle of life was crucial.
PH Journals was developed on the basis that hunting played a crucial role in the conservation of the animals I love so dearly and Professional hunters played one of if not the most important role in the conservation efforts.
Join me on this journey as I use social media and different platforms to educate and share the importance of this highly criticised industry.

GREAT EXPERIENCE MATTERS.

03. SEASON.
With some unique times of the year over a few seasons, it’s always hard to pick out just one. Probably autumn will be one of the best times of the year for me. Most of the spiral horn animals and many others are in full rut, and although the open land season isn’t open until the end of May it still leaves for some exciting experiences in and around the bushveld.
